Saiful: I don’t have STD
KUALA LUMPUR: Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, who alleged that he was sodomised by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has denied that he had contracted STD (sexually transmitted diseases) and was critically ill.
The former Anwar aide refuted claims made on certain blogs when met by reporters outside the Federal Territory Religious Department office here yesterday.
The 23-year-old former Universiti Tenaga Nasional student leader was seen entering the building at 11.05am by newsmen who had received a tip-off. However, Saiful chose to keep mum over his reason for being there.
He was accompanied by his father, Azlan Mohd Lazim, 55, and lawyer, Zamri Idrus.
Looking well: Saiful (left) and his father Azlan walking into the Federal Territory Religious Department office in Kuala Lumpur Thursday. The three were seen coming out of the office building an hour later and this time Saiful told the press that he would not comment further on the slander against him in the last two months.
“I wish to clarify that I am physically fit and healthy as you can see and am not bedridden or ill as claimed by some parties in their blogs,” he told reporters. He then stressed that he “certainly does not have STD”.
He said there were claims on certain blogs and via e-mail saying that bad luck has started to strike him for swearing on the Quran about his sodomy allegation against Anwar.
“This is a big lie and slander by irresponsible parties,” he said.
