MAS travel fair at eight venues
JOHOR BARU: The annual MAS Travel Fair, offering discounts of up to 70%, will be held at eight locations from Feb 22 to 24.
The fair will offer six million seats to more than 100 destinations. The local and international destinations on offer include new ones such as Jogjakarta and Macau.
MAS commercial director Datuk Abdul Rashid Khan said the fair would offer a seven-month travel period, from March 1 to Sept 30, to encourage travellers to plan and experience Malaysian hospitality.
“The event will be held at eight locations nationwide at venues that are easily accessible,” he told a press conference.
Senior general manager for network revenue management Bernard Francis said MAS has targeted every segment of the market, including those unfamiliar with the use of credit cards.
“We have a toll-free call centre that operates 24 hours, hence even if you're not free in the daytime, you can always (call) at midnight,” he said.
MAS subsidiaries MASwings and Firefly will also be participating for the first time at the fair. Firefly will be offering 150,000 free seats.
Other promotions are the value-for-money Malaysia Airlines Golden Holidays travel packages, promotions by Enrich – MAS loyalty and frequent flyer programme – and the “Buy 1 Get 1 Free” business class seats to Asean cities and Kunming, Macau and Xiamen.
Bookings and purchases can also be made through www.malaysiaairlines.com, www. maswings.com.my and www.fireflyz.com.my, or by calling 1-300-88-3000.
MAS area manager for Sarawak Shauqi Ahmad said that for the first time the fair would be held at more than one location in Sarawak: Permata Exhibition Centre in Kuching, Wisma Sanyan in Sibu and Mega Hotel in Miri.
He said MASwings would be offering a 50% discount on its Borneo Pass 5 and Borneo Pass 7, which allow travellers to fly to any five or seven sectors of their choice.
