KUANTAN: Some 2,000 public complaints, mostly related to problems with the local council and brought to the attention of Kuantan MP Datuk Fu Ah Kiow, have been resolved.
Fu said he had instructed his team of assistants to go through every complaint submitted by the people daily.

“I have told my assistants to update the status of each complaint to the complainants so that he or she would be in the know,” he said in an interview.
Fu said a public service and complaints bureau was set up in Wisma MCA since he was elected as Kuantan MP in the last election.
He said his special assistant Chang Hong Seong was the head of the bureau and had handled numerous complaints ranging from infrastructure to monetary assistance.
Fu said he managed to seek approval and expedite several flood mitigation projects in Tanjung Lumpur and the upgrading of roads, community halls and other basic amenities including securing a site for the expansion plans of SK (C) Chung Ching for the benefit of the community.
“We could not have achieved all this if the party and the Government was not strong and stable.
“We hope voters will look at the bigger picture and vote for continuous development and progress of the nation,” he said.
Fu said the ruling coalition had a track record of 50 years in governing the country and looking after the welfare of all races.
He said political stability was a pre-requisite to getting foreign investors and ensuring smooth implementation of the Government’s policies and plans.
Fu will be defending his seat against Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s Fuziah Salleh in a straight fight.
He defeated Fuziah with a 9,147-vote majority in the last election.
Chang will face PKR’s Siew Fook Chan for the Teruntum state seat.
