Model lodges report over sex harassment
A 21-YEAR-OLD model has lodged a police report against the singer of a local band who allegedly harassed her sexually by sending her half-naked pictures of himself when he stayed at her family’s house in Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan, reported Harian Metro.
Kelantan CID head Asst Comm Mazlan Lazim confirmed that the model named Wawa, accompanied by her 44-year-old father, met him for advice before lodging the report at the Kota Baru police headquarters on April 3.
Wawa said the singer, who is also an actor and model, was allowed to stay at her family’s house for 11 days because they worked for the same modelling agency, and he claimed he did not have relatives in Kelantan.
“Throughout his stay, he harassed me by sending his half-naked pictures taken in front of a mirror via MMS. He also sent an SMS asking me to go to the room he was staying in.
“He also hugged me and committed offensive acts towards me,” she told the newspaper on Monday.
“I fear he will take advantage of other girls. He is good at acting pious by talking about religion, and people were deceived by his personality, including my parents,” she said, adding that he had also claimed his parents passed away when he was a child.
“My family pitied him, that was why they allowed him to stay over at our house for 11 days without suspecting anything until he returned to Kuala Lumpur.” she added.
Malaccca registration plate numbers
> About 80% of motorcycles in Pulau Rupat, Riau, near Sumatra, are using Malacca registration plate numbers, Utusan Malaysia reported on its front page.
The motorcycles, believed to be stolen, were purchased by locals for RM200 to RM300 each and still retained Malacca registration numbers.
They are believed to have been smuggled by syndicates from Malacca to the island and other countries using boats.
This was exposed when Malacca CID Asst Comm Zainal Abidin Kassim saw several motorcycles carrying Malacca registration numbers moving around freely during his visit to the island last December.
