‘Lingam clip’ panel to finish report within two weeks
KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Commission of Inquiry on the Lingam video clip will try to submit its report to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong within these two weeks, said its secretary Datuk Abdullah Sani.
The commission had earlier fixed March 11 to submit the report but applied for a months extension, which ends today.
The commission has submitted a request for another one-month extension which has been approved by the Prime Ministers Department but is still awaiting approval by the Yang di-Pertuan Agongs approval, he told Bernama yesterday.
He said the commission needed the extra time to scrutinise the report before presenting it to the King.
The commission was set up to investigate a 14-minute video clip allegedly showing lawyer Datuk V.K. Lingam brokering judicial appointments with former chief justice Tun Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Abdul Halim over the telephone.
