Loh’s secret to long life

MORE than 150 guests turned up at the Nanking Vegetarian Restaurant to celebrate the 95th birthday of Loh Kim Foh.

The birthday celebration was organised by his son Mui Fah and grandsons Gwo Tynde, Gwo Fynne, and Gwo Burne, who is the new MP for Kelana Jaya.

“My grandfather used to exercise a lot when he was younger and even when he was 60, he was still strong enough to go hiking and do other strenuous activities,” Gwo Burne said.

“My family also has a history of longevity with a lot of family members living to very old age so it is indeed a blessing,” he added.

Kim Foh has more than 10 children and 30 grandchildren who are all over the country.

“It’s hard for us to keep track anymore because everyone lives in different areas. We invited a lot of close family friends and relatives for the birthday celebration so that we can share this happy moment together,” Gwo Burne said.

To signify the longevity of Kim Foh, the birthday cake had an image of the Chinese deity of Sau, which represents longevity and good health.
