Hui Yi: My mother is my hero
BATU PAHAT: Miracle heart transplant patient Tee Hui Yi, who survived two transplant surgeries, has named her mother Dina Bato Sam Bua as the real hero in her struggle.
The 15-year-old girl explained that her 46-year-old mother was a real role model and had been by her side through all her hardship, especially during the two surgeries.
“She spent one year at the hospital with me and she never left my side.
Thanks mum: Hui Yi hugging Dina at the Mother’s Day event in Batu Pahat Sunday. “My mother has sacrificed a lot for me and I am forever grateful to her,” she told an audience at the Mother's Day celebration here yesterday.
Hui Yi said she remained strong during her two heart transplant surgeries because her mother had been there to encourage her and keep her spirits up.
“I do not know what I would have done without my mother.
“She is my true hero and I will do anything for her,” the teenager said, adding that she loved her mother “very, very much”.
Hui Yi hugged and presented her mother with a cake, hamper and flowers during the event.
Dina, brushed aside the praise, saying she would sacrifice anything for her daughter without a second thought.
“I am happy that she is well now,” she said, adding that Hui Yi was a “wonderful daughter”.
