Implement decisions made, says Ku Li
KUALA LUMPUR: The Umno leadership must be firm in implementing decisions made, said Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.
“If there had been agreement to the decisions made, it must be brave to carry out the intention, don’t change, alter or abandon halfway,” said Razaleigh when asked to comment on Umno president Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s call for unity to carry out collective decisions made.
Asked if agreeing to the collective decision also meant following the general consensus of a smooth leadership transition for the top two posts in the party, Razaleigh replied that one must follow what had been agreed upon.
“The party constitution comprises laws that the members had agreed upon. The party constitution clearly states that democracy must be upheld, and this is a guarantee to the right to contest. That must be maintained,” he said.
