Jailed for sending dirty pic to friend
A man landed in prison after he unintentionally sent an obscene photo of his private part to a female friend using his mobile phone, reports Sin Chew Daily.
The 31-year-old man man was jailed five months by a Sibu magistrate’s court on Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to insulting the modesty of a woman under Section 509 of the Penal Code, an offence that carries a maximum five-year jail term or a fine, or both.
He explained that the photo, which he sent at 3am on Dec 25 last year, was intended for his wife but he had somehow accidentally sent it to the wrong recipient.
SIA profit drop 21%
> The China Press reported that Singapore Airlines’ profit for the fourth quarter of its financial year, which ended at the end of March, dropped about 21% compared with the same period the previous year.
The airline, one of the most profitable airlines in the world, cited rise in international fuel price as the reason for the drop.
The gross profit for the airline dropped to S$528mil (RM1.24bil) from about S$671mil (RM1.58bil) the previous quarter.
