PKR members on guard after attack on DAP office in Ipoh
IPOH: Police are investigating politically-driven interest as a possible motive for the bomb attack on the Perak DAP office here.
Perak CID chief Senior Assistant Comm II Ismail Yatim said this motive would be considered if the two homemade bombs were truly aimed at the DAP office.
We are not ruling out the possibility but at the same time, we do not want to speculate, he said yesterday.
Meanwhile, Perak DAP chief Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham said additional precautionary measures would be taken to ensure the security of the partys office premises.
He said members of Pakatan Rakyat component parties would also be watching their backs from now on.
The homemade bombs were hurled at Wisma DAP at 2.20am on Thursday but caused minimal damage, as they hit a wooden board and bounced back onto the road.
Witnesses claimed to have seen two men on a motorcycle approach the two-storey building, located just opposite the state secretariat in Bandar Ipoh Raya here.
