Perdana saga: ACA summons 3 admin officers
By R.S.N. MURALI
KUALA TERENGGANU: Three administration officers (AOs) from the Terengganu state secretariat office were summoned to the Anti Corruption Agency (ACA) office in connection with the high service cost of the state's Proton Perdana V6 Executive fleet.
The statements from the AOs were recorded between Sunday and Monday, while four more drivers of state executive councillors (excos) had been quizzed.
It is learnt that the AOs spent several hours at the ACA office while several documents pertaining to the service charges were also confiscated.
Up to now, eight drivers for exco members had their statements recorded in the investigation into the RM1.07mil spent for maintaining 16 Proton Perdanas between 2004 and 2008.
State ACA director Sharudin Sapian when contacted confirmed that the AOs -- including several key personnel from the state government’s office -- were summoned to help in the investigation.
“We will wrap up our investigation as soon as possible but can’t give offhand thetime frame -- this is a case of public interest and we are expediting it,” he said.
The ACA had remanded three workshop owners, aged between 30 and 50, to assist in the investigations.
