Kedah briefed on heli-logging
ALOR STAR: A Sarawak-based logging company has held an informal meeting with the state government to discuss the proposed heli-logging project in Kedahs water catchment areas.
Mentri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak said WTK Holdings Bhd from Sibu was the same company that had submitted a proposal on heli-logging to the previous state government in 2003.
He said several proposals made by the company had to be reviewed and studied during the informal discussion, which was held last week.
The state will need to study some of the technical aspects of the method proposed by the company, said Azizan yesterday.
He said the state had yet to appoint any company since it had to wait for the Environmental Impact Assessment report on heli-logging first.
