NS trainee caught with Eramin 5 pills
KEMAMAN: Police detained a trainee at a national service camp here for having 40 tablets of the increasingly popular psychotropic drug Eramin 5.
Eight packets of cigarettes were also confiscated from the 18-year-old trainee during a surprise check conducted by camp wardens when the trainees returned from their respective hometowns on Sunday after a three-day break.
It is learnt that the trainee from Ampang in Kuala Lumpur had concealed the drugs and tobacco packs in a biscuit tin to dodge the check but ran out of luck when camp wardens conducted a thorough inspection on that day.
The trainee was arrested following a report lodged by the wardens and is now being probed under the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
“We received the seized items from the camp wardens,” OCPD Acting Supt Abdullah Sani Salat said when confirming the arrest.
