Kerosene bombs thrown into Shahrizat’s home

BUTTERWORTH: Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil had a rude shock when she found kerosene bombs thrown into the compound of her house in Damansara Heights.

The Prime Minister’s Special Adviser for Muslim Women and Social Development Affairs said she believed it had something to do with the Bar Council’s forum on conversion to Islam.

Family members heard the sound of glass breaking at about 3.30am. They later found broken bottles filled with kerosene splattered in the compound.

Shahrizat learnt about the incident when she was getting ready to leave for Penang at 7.30am.

A security guard saw two men on a motorcycle hurling two bottles into the compound.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Wan Abdul Bari Wan Abdul Khalid said the guard who lodged the police report did not manage to see the number plates.

A family member said Shahrizat bought the house from the family of Bar Council president Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan about three years ago.
