Mohd Zin sues two for defamation
PETALING JAYA: Works Minister Datuk Mohd Zin Mohamed had filed a suit against a PKR politician and a website editor for publishing defamatory allegations.
Faizal Mustaffa, who is Kelana Jaya MP Loh Gwo Burne's political secretary, and Ahmad Lufti Othman of Detikdaily Suara Reformasi Rakyat, were asked to issue an apology and to retract the statement.
The suit was filed on April 18 at the Shah Alam High Court. A staff member at the law firm Zul Rafique and Partners confirmed that the suit had been served.
Mohd Zin claimed the two had defamed him in an article on Detikdaily on March 24.
Faizal said he would not apologise but instead would defend himself in court as he had not done anything wrong.
He said Mohd Zin was chairman and 49% owner of Silkway Cargo, which is the sales agent for Malaysia Airlines in Bangladesh.
