Still no report from Pusrawi, says Health Ministry
By LISA GOH
PETALING JAYA: Hospital Pusrawi (Pusat Rawatan Islam) has yet to furnish the Health Ministry with a report as to how a confidential medical report was leaked out despite being given a two-week deadline by the Health Ministry.
Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Ismail Merican said that they were "still waiting to know how it was leaked out".
"They (Hospital Pusrawi) say they want to do an investigation, but my medical practices director says they haven't done it.
"But we have gone to Pusrawi and we have done our own investigations. We are waiting," he told the press Monday after opening National Regulatory Conference here in Subang Jaya.
The three-day conference was themed Building Bridges Towards Excellence.
Dr Ismail added they needed Pusrawi's report before they could give a conclusive response.
He was commenting on an online news portal report that a medical report from Hospital Pusrawi, signed by Dr Mohamed Osman Abdul Hamid at 2.14pm on June 28, ruled out that Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan was sodomised.
Mohd Saiful had lodged a police report that he was sodomised by PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He also urged the public not to be "unduly swayed" and make conclusions from flyers which contained details of the "medical report" which had been going around.
"Don't make conclusions from the flyers as they can be highly misleading," he said.
