Shin the favourite for boys’ crown
PETALING JAYA: Perak's Shin Chern Yew has placed himself as one of the favourites for the boys' title in the National Grand Prix Bowling Finals, which begin today in Kuantan.
Chern Yew saved his best in the last stop of the nine-leg circuit in Malacca last week to show that he would be among those to watch in the Finals.
The unheralded Perakian pulled of a surprise by beating his more renowned team-mate Mohd Fazrin Khairul Faizi 400-382 to win his first-ever circuit title.
In the girls' Open, Pahang's Farah Izzazaya also nailed a first title on the circuit, beating Siti Nazwa Mohd Sanap 411-396 in the final.
A total of 16 boys and 16 girls will feature in the Finals.
