KFC outlet robber gets five years jail

JOHOR BARU: A 25-year-old man pleaded guilty to five counts of armed robbery at the Session’s Court here for robbing KFC outlets in the city armed with a parang. He was jailed for five years for one of the offences.
In the first charge, Mohd Farid Ahmad, from Taman Sri Skudai, pleaded guilty to robbing Melissa Natalie De Cruz, 24, of RM24,000 at the KFC outlet in Taman Ungku Tun Aminah on July 28, at around 10.30am with several others who are still at large.
He also pleaded guilty to robbing Norreliya Mohd Sharif, 24, with three others still at large on March 31 this year at around 10.56am at the KFC outlet in Jalan Dedap 4 in Taman Johor Jaya.
Mohd Farid pleaded guilty to robbing her of three gold rings, a gold bangle, a mobile phone and cash of RM18,643.50.
Judge Zainol Rashid Hussin set bail at RM15,000 for each charge and fixed Sept 11 for sentencing.
Meanwhile, Mohd Farid also pleaded guilty to robbing Fuaadah Muda, 28, of RM15,000 with three others still at large on June 1 at around 10.50pm at the KFC outlet located at Jalan Susur 3 in Kulai.
Judge Zainol Rashid set bail at RM10,000 and fixed Sept 25 for sentencing.
In another court, Mohd Farid pleaded guilty to robbing Melissa Natalie De Cruz again and three of her colleagues at the KFC outlet in Taman Ungku Tun Aminah on April 14 with two others still at large at around 3.30am, taking RM25,000 and four mobile phones worth RM3,000.
Judge Zainol Rashid set bail at RM20,000 and fixed Sept 25 for sentencing.
In yet another Session’s court, Mohd Farid pleaded guilty to robbing Norafidah Abdul Karim, 25, of RM23,000 and two mobile phones. Judge Muhammad Jamil Hussin sentenced him to five years jail starting August 7.
