RM300,000 worth of ecstasy pills and powder seized

JOHOR BARU: Ecstasy pills and powder worth more than RM300,000 meant for local entertainment outlets were seized, along with an array of drug-making tools, following a raid on a drug lab here.
Police also arrested three men aged 32, 46 and 51, believed to be drug traffickers, during the raid at a house in Taman Desa Jaya here at about 6.30pm on Oct 12.
A total of 1,400 ecstasy pills and 1,050g of powder of the same substance were seized from the premises, which was used as a mini-drug lab for about a year, police said.
Other items seized included three tablet-making machines, weighing machines, mixers for drug chemicals as well as a car.
Johor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said that the drugs were supplied to various entertainment outlets in the city.
“Two of the suspects tested positive for drugs, and we are still investigating to determine the source of the drugs,” he told a press conference here Thursday.
In another case, a man and a woman were arrested for possessing 5.9g of heroin and various weapons, including a pistol with three bullets in it, after a raid on Wednesday in Plentong here.
DCP Mohd Mokhtar said that the suspects, both 27, were believed to have been supplying drugs in the Permas Jaya area.
“We also seized a .38 Smith and Wesson pistol, three bullets, three parang (machetes) and a butcher’s knife from the house,” he said.
