MACC quizzes Selangor exco member Ronnie Liu

SHAH ALAM: Three officers from the Putrajaya Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) interrogated Selangor state executive councillor on Friday over the Sungai Pelek constituency allocation.

The interrogation, from 10.15am to about 1pm, was conducted at Liu’s office at the state secretariat building here.

At a press conference after the session, Liu said he was questioned as a witness over the allocation for the Sg Pelek constituency pertaining to eight cases involving allocations to fire victims, disabled persons, gotong-royong (communal work) and residents activities.

Liu said he was “happy” with the interrogation.

The eight cases involved allocations of RM1,200 to RM5,000 each, including a sugarcane-machine contributed to a disabled person, he said.

It was reported earlier that the state’s Select Committee for Competency, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat) had questioned Liu over how he had used up about RM800,000 of the RM1mil allocated for the Sungai Pelek and Sungai Panjang constituencies under his care.

In September, the MACC questioned his aide Wong Chuan How in its investigation into Liu.
