Rosmah gets Datuk Seri Panglima title
KOTA KINABALU: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor heads the list of Sabah state award recipients in conjunction with the Yang DiPertua Negri Tun Ahmadshah Abdullah’s 63rd birthday celebrations today.
The Prime Minister’s wife is among five recipients of the Seri Panglima Darjah Kinabalu (SPDK) award which carries the title Datuk Seri Panglima.
The other SPDK recipients are Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) vice-chancellor Datuk Dr Kamaruzaman Ampon, Sabah businessman Datuk Wong Ken Thau, Institute for Development Studies chairman Datuk Clarence Bongkos Malakun and Treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Abdullah.
Fifty two people will receive the Panglima Darjah Kinabalu (PGDK) award which carries the title Datuk.
They include state Community Development and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun, Sabah State Assembly Deputy Speaker Johnny Mositun, Fifth Brigade commanding officer Brig Jen Masrani Paiman, and state assistant ministers Bolkiah Ismail and Herbert Timbun Lagadan.
Datin Raya Erom, wife of former chief minister Datuk Salleh Tun Said, and High Court judge David Wong Dak Wah will also get PGDK awards. Other PGDK recipients are Royal Malaysian Navy Vice-Admiral Datuk Ahmad Kamarulzaman Ahmad Badaruddin, Sabah Energy Corp general manager Margaret Fung and former state athlete Datuk Balwant Singh Kler.
Elopura assemblyman Au Kam Wah is among 13 people named Justices of Peace (JP). The others are the Prime Minister’s political secretary Dr Oh Ei Sun, Sabah MCA Beluran division leader Chew Kok Who, former assemblyman Datuk Tan Yong Gee and businessman Robert Munang.
A total of 218 people were awarded the Bintang Kinabalu and 72 given certificates of merit. The investiture ceremony will be held at Istana Negri today.
