Badrul betrayed us, say Klang Pakatan leaders
By WANI MUTHIAH
PORT KLANG: Klang Pakatan Rakyat leaders have condemned Port Klang assemblyman Badrul Hisham Abdullah for betraying the coalition.
PAS division chief Ismail Arsat, DAP division chief Tee Boon Hock and PKR division chief Suhaimi Mohd Nor also accused Badrul Hisham yesterday of betraying the trust of the Port Klang electorate by jumping ship to become a Barisan Nasional-friendly assemblyman.
“His actions reek of personal ambition and selfish priorities,” they said in a statement.
They claimed that Badrul Hisham had used a loophole to pursue personal gain and benefit while ignoring the welfare of the people of Port Klang.
Ismail, who is the Klang Pakatan Rakyat chief, said the electorate didn’t vote Badrul Hisham in for his personality but because he represented the Pakatan manifesto.
He said Badrul Hisham had contravened democratic principles by not giving up his seat.
He should allow the Port Klang electorate to vote someone who could serve them, said Ismail.
He alleged that PKR leaders had informed him that Badrul Hisham had already spent RM200,000 of his RM500,000 allocation for elected representatives.
“But it is not known where the money went. His constituents certainly did not benefit anything,’’ he said.
Meanwhile, two Port Klang residents want Badrul Hisham to resign as their elected representative.
Customs Department employee Junaidah Hashim, who lives behind Badrul Hisham’s house in Kampung Raja Uda, called him “ineffective”.
She said Badrul Hisham never attended any community event and was inaccessible to the people.
“He is not capable of serving us. Why does he still want to hold on to his position after leaving PKR?”
L. Segaran said Badrul Hisham was one of PKR’s biggest mistakes and said his resignation was the best thing to happen to the party.
