SHAH ALAM: Selangor PAS commissioner Datuk Dr Hasan Ali confirmed he has received a show-cause letter from the party’s disciplinary committee.

Dr Hasan, who was met by reporters at the end of the state assembly sitting on Tuesday, said he had received the letter on Monday.

However, when prodded on the contents of the letter, Dr Hasan declined comment and said the issue was an internal matter between him and his party.

“You don’t have to know the details of the letter as it is an internal party matter,” he said.

He added the matter was not complicated and the issue was clear cut, adding that he was prepared to give the disciplinary committee his explanation.

“I have been given a chance to put forward my arguments and I am in the midst preparing a written explanation.

“I do not know if it would be accepted or if I would be called in to explain (further),” he said.

When asked if the letter had something to do with his recent criticism of the state’s Select Committee on Competence, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat), Dr Hasan said it did not revolve around that issue in entirety.

Dr Hasan also said that he has not been accused of any crime or abuse of power.

To a question if he had been unfairly targeted, Dr Hasan said fairness was a subjective matter.

“I am a party member and am required to answer the show-cause letter,” he said, adding that he would give the disciplinary committee his fullest cooperation.

Dr Hassan said he did not know who the complainants were but added they would have had a strong basis to report him to the disciplinary committee.

He said he was also certain the complaint did not come from Selangor PAS.

PAS disciplinary committee chairman Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man had said on Monday that Dr Hasan could be removed from his position as Selangor party commissioner or even sacked if he was found guilty of having gone against the party.
