PETALING JAYA: The MCA Public Service and Complaints Department, which has collected RM50,000 from well-wishers for typhoon victims in the Philippines, has presented the donation to Ambassador Victoriano M. Lecaros.

The Philippines Embassy has been receiving donations in cash and also in kind from various charitable and non-profit organisations from all over the country following the natural disaster.

Lecaros, who received the donation from department head Datuk Michael Chong at Wisma MCA last Friday, expressed his gratitude to Malaysians for their generosity in helping the people of his country in times of need.

The department also contributed RM60,000 to the Padang earthquake victims in Indonesia through Wisma Putra last month, said Chong.
