Best birthday gift for Aniza

PETALING JAYA: It was the most meaningful birthday present for senior tour consultant Aniza Abdul Razak when she won the Fly With Rossa To Jakarta competition and joined the Indonesian singer on a special trip to the Indonesian capital recently.

Aniza, 41, won two return business class tickets on KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, accompanied by Rossa, a 3D/2N accommodation package and shopping vouchers worth US$300 (RM1,050).

She also won an invitation to the Enjoy Jakarta Evening showcase by Rossa in Kuala Lumpur earlier.

Aniza said she had not expected to be given the opportunity to rub shoulders with her idol, who is also the ambassador of the Enjoy Jakarta campaign.

“I have won another grand competition before but this time, the feeling was different. You don’t get the opportunity to meet and talk with your idol everyday,” she told mStar Online.

“When I read about the competition in The Star last month, I was very excited and decided to give it a try but was not sure whether I could take part as I work in the tourism industry.

“But a few days before the closing date, I decided to try my luck.

"Frankly, I did not expect to win"- ANIZA ABDUL RAZAK

“Frankly, I did not expect to win,” Aniza added.

The single mother of a 16-year-old girl added that she was surprised when the organisers called her a day after her birthday in October with the good news.

Aniza described her meeting with Rossa as an amazing experience.

“She is such a sweet and friendly person. She is such a strong person for a woman who just went through a divorce. We talked about many things and went shopping together,” she said.

Rossa, known for hit ballads like Atas Nama Cinta and Ayat-Ayat Cinta, said she would try her best to promote Jakarta and regain the trust of Malaysians in view of the recent controversy between both countries.

“I have always been treated well by Malaysians. I want to do the same for my fans and friends from Malaysia. It will strengthen the relationship between us,” she said.

The competition was jointly organised by the Jakarta City Government Tourism & Culture Office and Explorer Tourism Network.
