Man to die for drug trafficking
TEMERLOH: A man was sent to the gallows after the High Court here found him guilty of trafficking cannabis about two years ago.
Helmi Mohd Hussin, 23, was sentenced to death by Justice Akhtar Tahir after the court found that the prosecution had proven the case beyond reasonable doubt.
The accused was said to have trafficked 908.18 gm of cannabis at his brother’s house in No 45, Jalan Bahagia 24, Taman Bahagia Jaya, near here, on May 21, 2007.
He was charged under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries the mandatory death penalty upon conviction.
