Heavy rain expected over east coast states next week
KUALA LUMPUR: Intermittent and occasionally heavy rain is expected to occur in the east coast states over the next five days, according to the Meteorology Department statement Sunday.
The affected states are Kelantan (Tumpat, Kota Baharu, Bachok, Pasir Puteh, Machang, Tanah Merah, Kuala Krai, Jeli and Gua Musang), Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman) and Pahang (Kuantan, Jerantut, Pekan, Rompin and Maran).
The same weather condition is also expected to occur over Northern Perak (Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Larut, Matang and Kerian) and Kedah from Tuesday night until Thursday.
This condition may cause floods in lowlying areas near the river banks.
Choppy sea condition is also expected to occur over coastal waters of Kelantan and Terengganu from Nov 18 till Nov 20. - Bernama
