A beautiful 1Malaysia way of life
WONG Chun Wai’s article “Let’s Pray For Understanding” (Sunday Star, Nov 15) has brought a ray of hope back into my life.
Religion is one topic that is most difficult to express due to sensitivities but with due respect to all concerned, the article was beautifully written and well meant.
My greatest appreciation goes to our beloved Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein for nipping things in the bud. I am positive that this is a step in the right direction for a beautiful 1Malaysia and to me it is a clear indication of being transparent.
An open discussion is something we have long yearned for and it is this kind of dialogue that will put Malaysia on the map for being multi-religious and understanding about each other’s spirituality.
As Christians, we are duty bound to pray for all and everything because we want to and not because we have to.
And with all the positive indications we see today, it makes it even easier for us to offer prayers and thanksgiving for a more prosperous Malaysia.
Being humble and peaceful in settling disputes should be the 1Malaysia way of life and to be able to make a difference is so commendable.
EUNICE WONG,
Seremban.
