Seetha, who drank weed-killer, dies

KLANG: Housewife R. Seetha, who poisoned herself and her four children with weed-killer last Thursday after her brother had died in a police shootout, died at 3.05pm on Wednesday at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital here.

Seetha, 33, had given her children Darshini, nine; Usha Rani, seven; Yugendran, five; and Navina, three, drinks laced with weedkiller before downing a cup of the concoction herself.

The children are still fighting for their lives.

She had come to Klang from Gemencheh to attend her younger brother Surenthiran’s funeral earlier in the week and was said to have been very depressed over his death.

Surenthiran, 24, was one of five suspected robbers and alleged member of the PCO Boy gang killed in a shootout with police on Nov 7.
