15,000 cows to be imported for Aidiladha
KUALA TERENGGANU: A total of 15,000 cows will be imported from Thailand for the Hari Raya Aidiladha sacrificial slaughter, said Veterinary Services Department deputy director-general (development) Dr Ibrahim Embong.
He said 10,000 cows would be brought in through Kelantan and 5,000 more through Perlis.
“There will be sufficient supply for the Aidiladha sacrifice as local breeders will also provide cattle,” he told Bernama on Wednesday.
He said the imported cattle would be confined to several quarantine centres set up by the departments and the private sector in Kelantan and Perlis for health inspection, and hoof and mouth vaccination. -- Bernama
