Parliament: Cut RM10 from Education Minister’s pay
By LEE YUK PENG
KUALA LUMPUR: An Opposition MP has filed a motion to have RM10 cut from Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s pay over the bridge collapse in Kuala Dipang, which claimed the lives of three pupils.
Ngeh Koo Ham (DAP-Beruas) filed the motion under Standing Orders 66(9).
The motion will be discussed when the budget debate on Education Ministry takes place at the committee stage.
DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang (DAP-Ipoh Timur) and Ngeh received a report on the findings of a Perak Pakatan Rakyat committee appointed to investigate the Kuala Dipang bridge collapse tragedy from former Perak state assembly speaker V. Sivakumar, state assemblymen Thomas Su and Kahlil Adham Lim Abdullah on Wednesday.
The ad hoc investigation team submitted the report to Lim and Ngeh for the MPs to raise the matter in the Dewan Rakyat.
