Report on Teoh’s second autopsy ready by next week
By ALLISON LAI
MALACCA: The report on the second autopsy of Teoh Beng Hock’s remains is expected to be completed by next week.
Teoh’s younger brother Beng Kee, 33, said the family had yet to get the full report by renowned forensics expert and pathologist Dr Pornthip Rojanansunand.
“We were only given a briefing on her findings and are now waiting for the complete report,” he said, adding that they were unclear about some technical terms used in the briefing.
Lawyer Gobind Singh Deo, who is acting for the family, said the detailed results would be disclosed during the inquest on Dec 9 at the Shah Alam coroner’s court.
Teoh’s remains were reburied in a simple yet solemn ceremony at the Nirvana Memorial Park in Semenyih yesterday. Led by Teoh’s elder brother Meng Kee, his family offered their last farewell before the coffin was lowered into the ground at about 10.15am after a prayer ceremony.
Teoh’s parents were not present at the burial site but were waiting in a nearby temple.
His remains were exhumed on Nov 21 after the coroner ordered a second autopsy as Dr Pornthip had testified at the inquest that Teoh’s death was homicide. The autopsy was completed by 3.15pm the same day by Sungai Buloh Hospital Pathology and Forensics Department chief Dr Shahidan Md Noor.
Witnessing the autopsy were Dr Pornthip (engaged by the Selangor government), British forensic pathologist Prof Peter Vanezis (appointed by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission), Dr Khairul Azman Ibrahim and Dr Prashant Naresh Samberkar.
Teoh was found dead on the fifth floor of Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam on July 16 after being questioned by the MACC.
