Two Africans stage payroll grab

AN executive from an agency handling foreign workers was robbed by two male foreigners, who fled with RM50,000 meant for salaries.

The 45-year-old victim, who declined to be named, was entrusted to send the money to a supervisor at a construction site last Friday morning.

“I was in a car with two other workers, waiting for the supervisor. The money was kept in a bag,” he said, as reported by Harian Metro.

Suddenly, a Kia Sorento stopped next to his car and two Africans came out, pointing a pistol at them.

“We were ordered out of the car,” he said.

A scuffle broke out before the men seized the money bag and fled.

> Kosmo reported that 50 houses, believed to be hideouts of Indonesian criminals in Hulu Klang, Selangor, were demolished yesterday.

The houses were built with plywood, zinc and materials taken from a nearby construction site.

There was also electricity and water supply obtained illegally, besides a surau and several chicken coops.

It took about four hours by 142 enforcement officers from Ampang Jaya Municipal Council, Rela and the police force to demolish the houses.

Only several residents were around then.

The action was taken following investigation by the police after several break-ins in the nearby residential areas.
