Najib to attend queen’s reception
PORT OF SPAIN: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is among several newly-appointed heads of government from Commonwealth countries attending a reception hosted by Britain’s Queen Elizabeth today.
The reception is held after the opening of the 21st Commonwealth Heads of Government Conference (CHOGM) by the Queen at the National Academy for the Performing Arts Theatre here in the capital city of Trinidad and Tobago.
The Prime Minister also joined other Muslim leaders for early Hari Raya Haji prayers at the Hyatt Hotel.
In the afternoon, he is expected to convey his views on climate change at a forum session aboard the cruise liner Serenade of the Seas, one of the conference venues.
Najib, who arrived here on Wednesday with wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, was met at the Piarco International Airport by Malaysian High Commissioner for Trinidad and Tobago based in Caracas Ramlan Kirin.
