Kemuning-Shah Alam Expressway to open mid 2010
SHAH ALAM: The 14.7km Kemuning-Shah Alam Expressway (LKSA) linking the Kesas Highway at Kota Kemuning and Federal Highway at Dataran Shah Alam is expected to open in the middle of next year.
LKSA general manager Rostam Shahrif Tami said Saturday the highway, managed by Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (Prolintas), was 90 percent complete and expected to be fully completed next March.
Rostam said the project involved construction of a new road alignment from Kota Kemuning to Alam Impian and upgrading and widening of the existing Persiaran Sultan from two lanes to three.
The new highway would have toll collection at two places Alam Impian and Seri Muda, he told Bernama after the Prolintas Aidiladha celebration, here.
LKSA, built at a cost of RM750 million, has six intersections.
Rostam said toll would not be imposed on the upgraded Persiaran Sultan but highways users would have to pay toll if they wanted to go to Kota Kemuning.
He said the new highway was expected to reduce traffic congestion along Persiaran Kayangan. - Bernama
