Floods: Only 150 people remain at relief centre in T’ganu
KUALA TERENGGANU: Only 150 people are left at two relief centres in Kuala Terengganu as floodwaters remained stagnant in the district after a second wave of floods hit the state last Monday.
Fourteen evacuees in the Marang district were allowed to return to their homes at about 11am Saturday and the relief centre there has been closed, said a spokesman of the Kuala Terengganu flood operations room.
He said the evacuees in Kuala Terengganu were from Taman Desa Pusu Tiga, Taman Desa Darul Iman and Taman Seri Embun, which are in lowlying areas where floodwaters take time to recede.
The spokesman said the weather in the state was fine and all evacuees might be allowed to return to their homes Sunday. - Bernama
