Jamal Abdillah aiming for better life
KUALA LUMPUR: Having undergone a two-year drug rehabilitation, via the Persatuan Pengasih Malaysia (Pengasih), popular singer Jamal Abdillah has continued to stay at the association for another two years.
He now realises that the stay at the association has given him a sense of calm and strength to venture into a new phase of life.
"This has made me more determined to improve himself for a better life and not repeat past mistakes.
"Behind the philosophy of Aidiladha, I must change for the better and discard whatever is negative," Jamal, 50, told Bernama after distributing beef at a ceremony, in conjunction with Pengasih's Aidiladha celebrations here Sunday.
He also donated a cow for slaughter, together with five other cows and three sheep, jointly donated by the families of the Rumah Pengasih residents.
Since residing at the association's Rumah Pengasih, Jamal has ventured into a fish-breeding project at Bukit Merah in Perak.
Pengasih president Mohd Yunus Pathi said 40 orphans from Asrama Baitus Sharifah AlJamalulail, Bandar Century Homes, Rawang attended the ceremony. - Bernama
