Sex act clip viewed in open court
By SYLVIA LOOI
IPOH: The corruption trial of two former Pakatan Rakyat state exco members viewed for the first time in open court a video clip showing sexual acts allegedly committed by one of five accused.
The court had on Oct 20 viewed the clip in camera.
The open court viewing of the clip followed an application by defence counsel S. Muthu to determine the identity of the person in the clip.
Sessions Court judge Azhaniz Teh Azman Teh yesterday allowed the application and asked whether the gallery needed to be cleared.
Muthu checked with his client Zul Hassan, 45, who agreed to allow the clip to be viewed by all in court.
This prompted Muthu to turn to reporters covering the case and said: “Are you happy now?”
Former PKR exco members Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu, 57, and Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi, 52, who are in the dock, were seen joking with those in the gallery and offering them a better view of the clip.
Jointly charged with the two are former Perak Tengah district councillors Zul and Usaili Alias, 56, businessman Fairul Azrim Ismail, 31 and Perak Development Corporation technician Ruslan Sahat (now deceased).
Earlier, Mohamad Imran said Zul never asked to be given girls in the three meetings he had with the accused in return for securing a project.
Mohamad Imran also told the court that he was not aware of any plot by the Anti-Corruption Agency to topple the Perak Pakatan state government.
When cross-examined by Asri Othman ‑ counsel for Fairul Azrim ‑ Mohamad Imran said Ruslan was not arrested on two occasions despite receiving money from him.
The hearing continues tomorrow.
