Star Foundation gives RM105,000 to Sibu charities
SIBU: Another five non-governmental organisations in Sarawak have become the beneficiaries of The Star Foundation.
Star Publications (M) Bhd executive deputy chairman Datuk Clement Hii presented a total of RM105,000 to the Methodist Children’s Home, Sibu Autistic Association, Sibu Kidney Foundation, Malaysian Red Crescent Society Sibu Chapter and Sarawak Society for the Blind Sibu Division Branch.
The cheque presentation was held at the Mill Hill De La Salle Centenary Hall of the Sacred Heart Secondary School here on Saturday.
A day earlier, Hii presented RM150,000 to four NGOs in Kuching.

Looking on is The Star Foundation executive committee member Stanley Ling. Hii was the guest of honour at Sacred Heart Secondary School, his alma mater, for the sixth time, at its annual Speech Day.
He also advised the 1,500 students and parents not to be mere talkers.
“Walk the talk and be a doer,” he said. Hii also gave away awards and certificates to 200 outstanding students.
As a personal contribution, he also gave RM25,000 for the cash awards and prizes which included three laptops.
Hii announced that two additional laptops would be awarded to deserving students next year.
