Chua ‘merely asking Pakatan to fulfil promise’
BUTTERWORTH: The Bagan MCA Youth has taken to task an executive councillor for accusing Barisan Nasional chief co-ordinator Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek of not doing his homework on the issue involving 236 families living in temporary longhouses in Rumah Hijau here.
Its chief David Chua said Penang State Town and Country Planning, Housing and Arts Committee chairman Wong Hon Wai should not make such an accusation against Dr Chua by saying that he was listening to just one side of the story.
“He was merely asking the Pakatan Rakyat state government to fulfil its promise made to residents that they would not be relocated to another place if Pakatan won the election,” said David. The residents had submitted a memorandum to Dr Chua on Wednesday.
