Four members removed and three new ones appointed into MCA Central Committee
KUALA LUMPUR: The MCA greater unity plan, proposed by president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat to make the party stronger, took off yesterday with a shake-up in the party’s central committee.
Four appointed members were removed and three new ones appointed into the CC.
The highest decision-making body in the party also accepted the decision of the Registrar of Society (ROS) to declare Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek as the rightful deputy president.
Other developments are:
> Dr Chua’s son Tee Yong and former vice-president Datuk Donald Lim were among the newly appointed CC members.
>Vice-president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, Youth Chief Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong and Wanita Chief Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun left the meeting before it was over.
