IRB to enhance e-services

SANDAKAN: The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) will have more electronic service applications for easier payments, said its chief executive officer Datuk Hasmah Abdullah.

She said the step was in line with demands for online tax payment to ease people’s responsibility as tax payers.

Up till now, she said, the IRB offered six forms of online services: eFiling, ePayment, eRegistration, eTax Agents Filing, Stamping and the schedular tax deduction (PCB) calculator.

“Efforts to have more electronic applications in the future are in line with the IRB’s mission to provide quality tax services ... towards voluntary compliance,” Hasmah said in a speech to officiate a tax seminar here on Thursday.

Her speech was read out by Sabah IRB director Kamaruzzaman Ab. Salleh.

Hasmah said the increase in the number of people using electronic services, especially eFiling, reflected the awareness of tax payers about the IRB’s services.

She also called on tax payers to use these services and give their feedback on the quality. -- Bernama
