Police shoot dead two suspected armed robbers
MALACCA: Police shot dead two suspected armed robbers here early Friday.
The incident occurred along the Ayer Keroh- Sungai Udang highway when a policemen in a patrol car spotted a Proton Waja with the driver and his accomplice behaving suspiciously.
The car sped off and tried to ram into the patrol car when they were told to stop. However, the Proton Waja crashed into a ditch after a chase.
The two suspects in the car opened fire at the policemen but they were shot dead.
Both suspects are local aged 44 and 41. They are believed to belong to "Gang Kendong."
Police recovered an automatic Smith & Wesson from one of the suspects.
The suspects were believe to have been involved in a spate of criminal activities in Kuala Lumpur, Subang and Johor.
Police are also investigating if there are more members in the gang.
