Ministers urged to ensure Budget 2010 plans are on time
By MAZWIN NIK ANIS
PUTRAJAYA: The Prime Minister wants ministers and government officials to go to the ground and monitor closely projects under Budget 2010.
Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak also wants the 160 listed projects to start according to schedule as this was the commitment given to the rakyat.
He warned that any problems which arose in carrying out the Government’s pledges should be rectified without delay.
He said this when meeting ministers and heads of department yesterday to assign them tasks, responsibilities and a timeline of projects announced in Budget 2010.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, when met after the meeting, said the Prime Minister wanted to ensure that everyone worked according to the timeline given.

Ministers must meet with Mentris Besar to discuss the status of projects. Orders and directives must be clear to prevent delays,” he said.
Later in Sabak Bernam, Najib said the Barisan Nasional government would always keep abreast with rice bowl issues affecting the rakyat.
“We do not want people worrying about food, housing and the welfare of their children,” said Najib in his speech at the launch of the national-level rice subsidy for the people programme (Subur).
He added that the rice subsidy programme was the best example of being the people’s champion - by providing rice to those who needed it.
Each recipient would receive one to three monthly rice subsidy vouchers valued between RM10 to RM24.
Some 200,000 families nationwide are expected to enjoy this rice subsidy starting next month.
