Kudos to Rosmah’s exemplary honesty
TWO thumbs-up to Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor who wowed us with her exemplary honesty – “Good deed that will benefit many” (The Star, Nov 7).
The Prime Minister’s wife has led the way that to be honest, sincere and truthful has its dividends as what she did when chancing upon a priceless discovery that belongs to others.
Not only did Rosmah not take the rewards for herself for her kind deed, she went the extra mile to have the bountiful rewards given to her fellow Malaysians through 14 much-needed beneficiaries.
We must instil such noble values in the behaviour and upbringing of our young Malaysians as a way of life, and we should follow the practice that what is not ours should be returned to its rightful owner.
To start with, we should inculcate such honesty and kindness with our front-liners who are constantly in touch with our visitors, like the taxi drivers, tour operators, hotel concierges and housekeepers, tourist guides and those who look after our “guests” from abroad.
