KUALA LUMPUR: A marketing executive was abducted and taken on a terror ride for five hours by four men who had robbed her yesterday.
The 28-year-old victim and her 30-year-old husband had gone to a Maybank branch in Taman Midah to deposit a cheque yesterday.
As the woman entered the bank, the men confronted her and forced her to hand over her cash and valuables.
When she refused the robbers dragged her out of the bank and blindfolded her before forcing her into a black Honda CR-V.
The woman’s husband who was waiting for her in a car nearby tried to stop the robbers but failed. He lodged a report at the Cheras district police headquarters.
District police chief Asst Comm Ahmad Amir Mohd Hashim said the woman was released unhurt in Bandar Tasik Permaisuri.
“She was traumatised,” he said. “She said the men kept demanding for more money from her and took her credit and ATM cards from her handbag. They kept harassing her to reveal the pin numbers but the women claimed to have forgotten them.
“The robbers stopped at several banks where they attempted to withdraw money but failed,” ACP Ahmad Amir said.
Before they released the woman, they took RM100 cash, a watch and a handphone and used her credit card to pump petrol.
He added that such incidents were becoming rampant lately.
“We do not have much information yet but we will make some arrests soon.”
