> China Press reported that the revenue of charity organisations has been reduced due to the price drop of recycled items such as old newspapers and aluminium cans.
The daily said prices have dropped by half as demand for the items have decreased due to the economic downturn.
According to a survey by the daily, the organisations said their main source of income were public donations and the sale of the recycled items.
Some organisations said they would carry out fund-raising and charity concerts to raise funds.
“Besides that, we will cut down on our expenses,” they said.
The organisations added that public donations of clothes and electrical items had also dropped.
