Two more drug traffickers held in JB
MUAR: Two more men, believed to be drug traffickers, were arrested a day after police detained nine gang members following a shootout in which two suspects were killed in Johor Baru.
They were caught near Taman Ehsan and Taman Desa in Johor Baru, said Johor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff.
This brings to 11 the number arrested for drug trafficking. The suspects include a woman.
“We also seized 932gm of drugs from a house,” he said.
DCP Mohd Mokhtar said directives had been issued to district police to set up special committees with local community leaders, including state representatives, to work towards fighting crime.
Police, with the assistance of the Iskandar Regional Development Authority, would set up community police posts, especially in Johor Baru which had a higher crime rate compared to other areas.
