Cops among 70 who tested positive for drugs in club raid

KUALA LUMPUR: Five policemen, including a chief inspector, tested positive for drugs after a Bukit Aman narcotics team raided a nightclub in Jalan Kepong in Jinjang at 3am Friday.

They were among the 15 off-duty policemen at the newly-opened club.

Some packets of substances, believed to be drugs, were found scattered on the nightclub floor, said Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Zakaria Pagan.

Out of the 306 club patrons screened, 70 tested positive for ketamine, methamphetamine and amphetamine.

All those who tested positive for drugs were detained at Sentul police headquarters.

“This shows that the police are not biased. Action will be taken against anyone found breaking the law, without fear or favour,” he said.
