PARIS: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin flew in Monday for a three-day working visit to forge closer cooperation between the two countries.
Flight MH20 carrying the Malaysian delegation touched down at the Charles De Gaulle International Airport at 6:40am (12:40pm Malaysian time).
Muhyiddin and his wife Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman were received by Malaysian Ambassador to France Datuk S. Thanarajasingam and other senior officials.
The delegation then proceeded to the Four Seasons Hotel George V in the city, where a hectic programme awaits the deputy premier Tuesday.
Among others, Muhyiddin will hold talks with Unesco director-general Koichiro Matsuura, Elysee Palace secretary-general Claude Gueant and the newly-appointed French Education Minister Luc Chatel.
This will be the first working visit overseas by Muhyiddin as deputy premier and Education Minister, aimed at enhancing cooperation in various fields, particularly education, training, research and development.
